November is a time to recognize and thank the veterans who have served our country. Veterans Day, observed every year on November 11, marks the anniversary of the end of fighting in World War I in 1918. Originally known as Armistice Day, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to honor American veterans of all wars.
November is an opportunity to reflect on the service and sacrifices of veterans and find meaningful ways to show appreciation. At Stark Library, we believe learning and community connections can help us better understand the people and stories that shape our history.
Learn and Connect at Stark Library
This November, Stark Library invites you to explore opportunities to learn about military service and connect with veterans through library events. Join us at events like Alpha to Zulu: Learn Your Navy ABCs with a Veteran at our Madge Youtz Branch, Drumming for Good | Beating PTSD with Warrior Beat at our Main Library, and a variety of events presented by MAPS Air Museum.

Ways to Show Your Appreciation
You don't have to attend an event to recognize the veterans in your life. Take a moment to thank a veteran for their service, listen to their stories and experiences, or learn more about the history of Veterans Day. Small gestures of appreciation can help honor the service and sacrifices of those who have served.
This November, join Stark Library in honoring our veterans through learning, community, and connection.
