Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Voices at Stark Library

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month—a time to honor the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of AAPI communities. At Stark Library, we’re celebrating through stories that reflect the depth, diversity, and creativity of AAPI voices.

Books have the power to connect us across experiences and perspectives, and this month offers the perfect opportunity to explore new authors, new genres, and new worlds. From heartfelt family stories and powerful memoirs to imaginative fiction and thought-provoking nonfiction, AAPI writers continue to shape literature in meaningful and lasting ways.

To help you discover your next great read, our staff has curated a special AAPI Staff Picks list filled with books we love and recommend. Each title highlights unique voices and stories that inspire reflection, spark curiosity, and celebrate identity and heritage.

But the celebration doesn’t stop with books. Stark Library also offers a variety of resources and programs to help you learn and engage all month long. From digital collections and streaming content to cultural learning tools and community events, there are many ways to explore and connect with AAPI stories and histories.
