At Stark Library, collection development is guided by a clear purpose: to provide materials and resources that are accessible to people of all ages and abilities, while representing a wide range of perspectives.
This commitment means continually looking for new and meaningful ways to support our community. From braille and large print materials to audiobooks, subtitles in films, and digital resources with screen reader compatibility and customizable settings, accessibility is built into the way we serve.
New to Our Collection
We’re excited to introduce Assistive Technology Packs, designed to help users explore tools that support independence, learning, and everyday life.
Two options are currently available:
- Time Management Pack: Includes tools like a Watch Minder and magnetic checklists to help users build routines and manage time more effectively.
- Reading Kit Pack: Offers the opportunity to compare devices such as the LeapFrog system and a C-Pen, helping users discover new ways to engage with reading.
These packs are available for ages 14–22 and can be used in-library at our East Canton, Lake, and Plain Branches, as well as at Main Library.
Supporting Our Community
These new resources were made possible through the generosity of the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Their support helps us continue expanding access and creating opportunities for individuals to explore tools that meet their unique needs.
At Stark Library, accessibility is our commitment. We will continue to grow our collections and services to ensure everyone has the opportunity to learn, connect, and thrive.
