History

The Hartville Branch of the Canton Public Library opened in November 1960. It moved to share quarters with the Hartville Fire Department in 1977, then in October 2003, opened in its present location in the Lake Community Center, also housing Lake High School, Lake Middle School, and the Lake YMCA. With this move the branch was renamed the Lake Community Branch.
