Sandy Valley Branch to be Relocated
The Stark Library Board of Trustees recently announced the relocation of the Sandy Valley Branch to Southgate Shopping Center in Canton South, in order to provide Library services to a greater number of patrons. This announcement came after many months of research, data collection and analysis, and meetings with community leaders and patrons.
The New Southgate Branch will include:
Access
- Enhanced A/V technology
- Electrical outlets and powered furniture for device charging
- Children’s interactive tables and furniture
- Self-check stations
- Interactive, touchscreen catalogs in public areas
Comfortable and flexible spaces
- An enclosed study room with wall monitors
- Updated meeting room
- New carpeting, paint, and flooring
- Wall quotes submitted by patrons and staff
- New, enclosed study room and collaboration areas
- New, varied furniture types with increased durability, accessibility and flexibility
- Updated bathroom facilities
Safety and security
- Lower shelving to allow for better sightlines
- Energy efficient lighting inside and out
- Improved ADA compliance throughout the system
- New security cameras
- Sound quality improvements to reduce noise
Sandy Valley Branch
The Sandy Valley Branch will remain open normal hours during the transition.
