All are Welcome
At the heart of our mission as a Public Library is the dedication to fostering inclusivity. Regardless of your background or interests, we extend a warm invitation to engage with our diverse community.
Pride History
PRIDE month commemorates the pivotal events that unfolded at the Stonewall Inn in New York City in 1969, igniting a nationwide movement for equality and justice for the LGBTQ+ community. Initially observed as "Gay Pride Day" on the last Sunday of June, it has since evolved into a monthlong celebration.
Events
Throughout the month, we host a range of events designed to inform, inspire, and connect. Whether you're interested in participating in a book club discussion, exploring the works of LGBTQ+ artists, crafting ally buttons and flags, delving into the nuances of identities, or attending any other event, we encourage your involvement in our efforts to cultivate an inclusive environment for everyone in our community.

Reading List
We invite you to explore a PRIDE list curated by our own librarians, with titles written by and about LGBTQ+ individuals. Explore books, movies, and more celebrating our rich diversity. It is our hope that our collection represents all individuals in our community. The more we learn and understand each other, the more we can grow. Together, we can create a Library and society that is truly open to all.
ALL are Welcome!
Want More?
If you feel there is something that Stark Library could do to create a more inclusive space for you to learn, we appreciate you letting us know. It is our goal to make sure every patron of Stark Library feels safe, welcome, and represented. If there is an author, book, or any other material that you had hoped we would have but do not, let us know! Our collection is always evolving to best suit our community’s needs and we would be happy to look into adding the materials that you love.
