The Perry Sippo branch collection contains 57,000 items, including the latest bestsellers, movies, music, special nature and Ohio and Erie Canalway history collections. It has 19 public computers with Internet access and the full suite of Microsoft Office programs; wireless Internet access; a 400 gallon fresh water aquarium; a decorative art tile wall created by Perry Township children; reading terrace overlooking Sippo Lake; and a fireplace.The Stark Parks education staff and the Perry Sippo Branch library staff work together on programs enhancing Stark County residents' understanding of the natural environment and the history of our area.

History

The Perry Local Board of Education donated land near the Perry Schools campus on 13th Street for the Perry Heights Branch of the library in 1963, and the library opened to the public in 1964. The branch occupied this space through several renovations and enlargements until it was destroyed in a fire in 2002. On May 14, 2007 the branch opened in its new location, sharing quarters with the Stark County Park District Education Center on Sippo Lake.
