Ohio Criminal Justice System

This tutorial was created to assist you in locating information related to the criminal justice system. 

Criminal Records

Federal Bureau of Prisons provides an  Inmate Locator to search for inmates of federal prisons incarcerated from 1982-present.  There is also directory of federal facilities.

Electronic Sex Offender Registration and Notification (eSORN)  is a resource for locating and tracking registered sex offenders.  

Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction's Offender Search offers access to information about inmates currently incarcerated in the ODRC prisons or offenders under Department supervision. Victims can also register to be notified about a specific inmate.

Ohio Department of Youth Services has statistics and descriptions of programs for youthful offenders.

Stark County Criminal Justice Information Systems  has a searchable online court docket for courts within the county. 

Supreme Court of Ohio is the official website of the state's highest court.  The court's online docket may be searched by case number or party name, among other choices.  Announcements and decisions are posted.  Lower Ohio trial courts websites are linked from this site. Free Criminal Records Search Guide  This online document is a guide to locating criminal records using the website. Some sources listed require registration and charge fees.
