Interim Executive Director Karen Miller
Karen E. Miller, Stark County District Library's Interim Executive Director began her career in public libraries as Director of the Claymont Public Library in 1998. She went on to direct the St. Paris Public Library before becoming an administrator at the Greene County Public Library in 2002. She joined the Stark County District Library after five years there. She first served SCDL as the manager of the new Plain Community Branch from 2006 to 2009. She moved to the library's Perry Sippo Branch as manager in 2009, then to the Main Library as associate director for Main Library Services in 2010. She has overseen the library's most recent strategic planning initiative which runs from 2011 through 2013.
Miller is a graduate of the Leadership Stark County 21st class, a graduate of Library Leadership in 2000, chaired the Ohio Library Council's Expo for the 2011 biannual conference, is on the board of the Rotary Club of Plain Township, is a committee member for the HOF Enshrinement Festival DCI competition and was a member of the Canton Spinners and Weavers Guild.
She holds a Masters in Library Science and a BA in English from Kent State University.
