How to Create a Hoopla Account
The Stark County District Library's Hoopla service allows streaming of music and video and downloading to mobile devices for offline viewing and listening. Hoopla will start with a collection of 2,200 films, 425 TV shows, 7,800 audio-books, and over 100,000 full length albums. A Hoopla account is required to take advantage of these services. The following instructions will help you to set up your Hoopla account. Once you have created your account visit the Hoopla Viewing Instructions to learn more about borrowing Hoopla music, videos, TV shows, and movies.
Computer or mobile device with Internet access
A Stark County District Library card (Don't have an SCDL Card? Visit anyone of our location and talk to any SCDL librarian or apply for a card online.)
An active email address
Creating a Hoopla account
Visit the SCDL site @ www.starklibrary.org.
Click on the Browse option found at the top of the screen.
Click on DIGITAL COLLECTION: EBOOKS, AUDIO BOOKS, & MUSIC. (http://www.starklibrary.org/digital-collection-ebooks-magazines-music)
Click on the Hoopla link found on the Digital Collection page. You will be taken to the Sign Up | Sign In page.
Click on the Sign Up option found at the top, right corner of the page You will be taken to the Agreement page.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Agree button.
Complete the form and click on the Register button at the bottom of the page. You will be taken to the Hoopla page where you can Search for titles, Browse the site, or access the titles you have already checked out.
To create a bookmark for your Hoopla site on your computer
a. Click on your Bookmark or Favorite button found on your web browser.
b. Click on the Add option.
c. (Optional) Select a Folder.
d. Click on the Save button.
- To sign out of your Hoopla account, click on the Sign Out at the top right.
