Foundation Center Cooperating Collection Grant Resources


The Stark County District Library is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center. As a member of this nationwide network of libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit agencies, the Stark County District Library provides visitors with free public access to grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center's electronic databases, Foundation Directory Online Professional, Foundation Grants to Individuals Online, and Philanthropy In/Sight.

Where will I find the Foundation Center Collection?

The Grants Collection is located on the second floor of the Main Library. Reference Services staff members are always available to assist users with the collection during regular library hours. No appointment is necessary to use the Grants Collection.

How do I access the Foundation Center's databases?

The following resources are available from public computers at the Main Library (including the library wireless).

 

 Foundation Directory Online

Updated weekly, Foundation Directory Online Professional provides access to essential facts on grantmakers and their funding activities worldwide. To pinpoint prospective funders, explore four comprehensive databases: Grantmakers, Companies, Grants, and 990s. With geographic search tools, you can zoom in on regional and local grantmakers or grants by state, county, city, metro area, congressional district and ZIP code. Choose from over 1,100 indexed search terms or keyword-search. Interactive maps and charts show a funder's giving trends, and from a funder's main entry you can "jump to" recipient lists and grant details. Available only in the Main Library, including the library's wireless service.

Foundation Grants to Individuals Online is for people who need grants for personal purposes, such as education, business, or other assistance.
